Sometimes it's really difficult to just exist in the world when you are so aware. I know that I've got a toolbox full of tools from coaching to counseling to energetic work, and peace is still difficult to maintain, or so I thought.
Recently, I was facilitating the Sex is Not a Four Letter Word book club, and I caught the words "your body's natural state is peace." You can imagine my shock as I'm living day to day, looking to have more ease, to handle situations more gracefully, and, as I mentioned last week, to just feel good in my body. Your body's natural state is peace. Don't stop reading yet...
Ponder this: how many things in nature can you find that do not have a state of peace? The cheetah that's running does it with a state of peace. The antelope trying to survive does it in a state of peace. A bird sings and flies away in a state of peace. How? Because peace has nothing to do with being totally still or happy.
Peace is simply a state of being free. That means your total present in the moment, and you're not judging. The cheetah has no more thought about the chase than the antelope does about the escape. Animals don't think. They choose, they experience, they receive, and they choose again. That's how I took this quote.
"You cannot find peace by avoiding life." You can only find it by living in the present moment in life. It's not about not being stressed out, it's not about having things perfect, it's not about thinking through every step and choosing the path of least resistance. It's about allowance. It's about letting go. It's about being free. So, if you desire peace, let go of your egos, take a deep breath, and tune in. Tuning out and avoiding anything only creates more conflict.
